This course introduces the basic notions related to computer simulation, virtual reality and multimedia applications. The student acquires in this course the basic definitions related to immersion, multimedia interaction, virtual, mixed and augmented realities. Algorithms and data structures used in virtual systems to model different types of information are discussed in this course: Image, sound and touch. The design of multimedia applications involves multidisciplinary approaches to produce deliverables that meet the desired specifications. The prerequisites for this course concern the foundations of graphical modeling and computational geometry.
